The International Network for Democratic Economic Planning (INDEP) held their first international conference, called Democratic Economic Planning for the Real World in Montreal in July 2025. This is a recording of a talk by Participatory Economy Project member and software engineer, Mitchell Szczepanczyk introducing a software project to build an interactive participatory planning prototype.

  1. Very interesting idea. Which can be easily implemented in simplified way in software/mobile app … even in current model with connection to modern retailers (if they provide API interface for exporting available goods/prices/placing orders etc) and providing discount on group base (-logistics). Not only goods… but also services.

    In general this is heavily connected with urban/environment structure. For small areas (10-50k people) even some services and resource consumption can be included…
