Democratic Planning and the Environment

December 23, 2021

A talk on how participatory planning protects the environment. Participatory planning is a version of democratic planning whereby citizens, through federations of self-managing worker and consumer councils, take part in an annual decentralised procedure to cooperatively plan the economy as an alternative to markets. This presentation introduces a pollution demand revealing mechanism and communities of affected parties (CAPs).

This session is from the Democratizing Work global forum (5-7 Oct. 2021) where many activists from the Participatory Economy community took part.

Chair: Jason Chrysostomou (The Participatory Economy Project)
Speakers: Robin Hahnel (The Participatory Economy Project) and Mitchell Szczepanczyk (The Participatory Economy Project)
